Calico Critter Play Room

This Christmas, I found one of the cutest toys ever at Toys R Us: Calico Critters.  Each Calico Critter family consists of different animals with adorable names like the Furbanks Squirrel Family and the Hopscotch Rabbit Family.  Like My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake, this is a come-back toy from the nineties.  I was mad jealous of the girls that smuggled their animal families out during recess.  Back in the day, they were called Sylvanian Families.

Little Women Pencils

Last month, I finished another book from my list: Little Women.  My very favorite of the March sisters was Jo.  I loved her strong will and courage to speak her mind.

Every once in a while, I get to play secretary at my mother-in-law's office.  My favorite aspect of the job is dressing the part.

T Shirt Headband (DIY)

As you know, it kills me to throw anything away.  I am all about keeping things out of the landfill, sooooo..... here's an idea: instead of throwing old t-shirts in the trash, how about you put them in your hair?

Walnut Pendant

Do you ever pick up weird junk and think to yourself, I have no idea what to do with this, but I'm buying it?

The Dollhouse

When I was nine years old, I had the the sweetest little old lady as a neighbor.  Mrs. Pickford shared my love of cats and squirrels, and spoiled me like I was her granddaughter.  I brought her hand-sewn cat toys and in exchange, she baked me cookies: it was a good relationship.  One day, she gave me a box of fragile miniature furniture.  I was absolutely in love with it.

Gold Painted Sea Shell Charms

I love a good challenge, so I sign up for almost every 'Make something inspired by ____'  that I come across, such as the Photo Response Project at arthousecoop.com.  Artists were encouraged to use one of the five photos provided to create something: a painting, story, etc.  The pieces will be collected and displayed in an exhibit at the Brookly Art Library in New York.
